The WTRRA Board of Directors invites everyone to bring your horses, bikes, hiking shoes or just a lawn chair and enjoy the  incredible view of the Continental Divide from the beautiful Eagle Valley Ranch on Bohannon Creek courtesy of Valerie Brackett and Nikolos Monoyios. You are welcome to tap your feet or sing along with Billy Alder while you watch the participants finish. Bring your families and friends to enjoy good company and a great meal. !
Join the Celebration of National Trails Day and the Rich Rodgers Memorial Ride sponsored by the Nez Perce Foundation and WTRRA with support from the Lemhi County Sheriff's Posse and Salmon Back Country Horseman.

DIRECTIONS TO RIDE: From the Burger King in Salmon-Go east on highway 28 about 6 miles to Barracks, turn left and then right on Lemhi Road to Bohannan Creek. There will be signs leading to the ranch. It's about 7 miles up a good dirt road.

WHO CAN GO ON TRAILS: Open to equestrians, hikers, runners and bikers. There will be separate trails for equines. The event is scheduled to coincide with National Trail Day and includes well-marked trails for equestrians as well as hikers, runners and bikers.

TRAIL INFORMATION:

ALL TRAILS WILL BE FLAGGED AND MAPS WILL BE AVAILABLE

COST:
$20 per adult equestrian (over 18)
$  8 per youth (10-17) Under 10 free
$10.00 per adult walker
$  5.00 per youth (10-17) Under 10 free
$35.00 per family groups of 3 or more (parents and their children)

MEAL COSTS:
There is a separate cost for the meal.

$25.00 per family groups of 4 or more (parents and their chiildren)
under 10 free

MEMORIAL RIBBONS:
Remember your loved ones. Carry a ribbon inscribed with their names on the trail. Ribbons are available by donation on the day of the ride or by contacting WTRRA. If you are not going on the trails, the memory ribbon will  be carried by a designated participant.  As they return from the trails the ribbons will be posted on the Memory wall and read during the memory moment at the end of the days events.

DINNER, ENTERTAINMENT/ AUCTION:  Billy Alder will entertain through-out the early afternoon until 3:30-4 p.m.  The meal will be served as the participants begin returning to the ranch.

TENATIVE SCHEDULE OF EVENTS:

8 to 9:30 a.m. equestrians register

9:30-11 a.m.  Other trail participants register 

9:00 a.m. - Welcome: Joyce Scott-Director, WTRRA

9:20 a.m. - Trail instructions - Jim Evans, Executive Director NPTF

9:30 a.m. - 12 mile equestrian trail "C" start

9:45 a.m. - Hikers, Runners, Bikers start

10:00 a.m. - 7 mile equestrian trail "B" start

10:15 a.m. - 5 mile equestrian trail "A" start

This is not a guided group ride. Everyone rides at their own pace.

1:30 - 3:30  Entertainment (Billy Alder)

1:00- 3:30 p.m. - Lunch is served.   

3:30 Memory Moment (Reading of names of those remembered)  

4:00 p.m.- Thank-you for coming-have a safe trip home.

OTHER INFORMATION:

  • Please, this ride is being hosted on private property. In respect to the owners we ask that you do not bring your dogs.
  • Smoking is allowed in designated areas only.
  • You may want to bring your own lawn chairs
